We have found that the most effective method of getting our voices heard is through letter writing. We have been told from elected officials that it gets their attention, and when enough people write to them about the same issue, they must act. We encourage you to write to as many of our elected officials as you can, even more than once!
You can visit http://www.nousrefusonslescompteurs.org for information about participating in that letter writing campaign. There you will find a letter to send that is all ready to go. You can personalize it, if you wish.
If you would like to write your own personal letter, here is a list of the different departments for the federal and provincial governments. As for municipal elected officials, simply contact your city hall.
Writing from your own unique perspective is a very powerful tool in exercising your right as a tax-paying citizen to be heard from our elected officials. The letter does not have to be elaborate or long; it can be a simple explanation, in point form even, of your thoughts, concerns, and why you feel that the recipient must act. That is it!
